These Sunday Thoughts might need their cup of coffee before you talk to them … ![]()
1. You know you are getting older when you have to ask, “are these socks navy or black?” Then you say, “are you sure they are navy?” ![]()
2. Speaking of clothes and aging, did anyone else’s pants decide to tighten up and try to make them uncomfortable this week? ![]()
3. This happened recently:
Daughter: I need a hairbrush.
Me: There are 2 on the bathroom counter.
Daughter: No, I need the RIGHT hairbrush … ![]()
4. Let’s just say that when a husband, wife, and teenage daughters live in their hunting cabin (with one bathroom) eagerly waiting for their new house to be built … each day might be described as “an episode.” ![]()
5. This time of year even Arkansas weather doesn’t know what to wear outside each day … ![]()
6. This past week my dad (my hero) turned 82. He’s a dandy! Each time that we are together I am reminded that it’s better to get hearing aids sooner than later. ![]()
7. I love so many things about Spring: longer days, warmer temperatures, and most of all … Reese’s Eggs.
8. Here’s a thoughtful line by CS Lewis:
“Relying on God has to begin all over again every day … as if nothing had yet been done.”
9. Here’s a short, but stout, verse to ponder on …
“You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus …”
Our greatest strength is not found in trying harder, or galvanizing our will further, it is found in knowing and resting in His grace, and in then in Him. ![]()
10. I said it last week, but it’s with with saying again: There is no such thing as paralyzing joy, but there is paralyzing worry or fear.
So, forsake fear and worry this week, and pursue joy! ![]()
Have a good week friends
